Yesterday: Open House. Arrived at school at 12.30,met up with Penelope,Wanning and Jody.Thought I was damn late and kept worrying...until I reached to see the bunch of them sitting near the labs with the bored-outta-my-skull faces and sort of slumping. So I joined the club and we sat there until nearly two!!!it was NOT fun.the teachers in charge of the guides didn't even allow us to go as a group to the canteen for some F&B.'No,it's going to start soon.'some teacher assured us.My foot.It was 1.15 then. Finally, finally we went to the LT and were broken into pairs and assigned around ten ppl each.Went with Penelope, and it was scary at first 'cos we had no idea what to do/say.This guy (with daughter and wife in tow) kept asking us so many questions and sometimes we were stumped. We brought them to the concourse and then to the Innosphere. On our way to the Innosphere, about half of the group decided to stop following us,probably 'cos we were lousy tourguides. But anyway, talkative man,family,curly-headed woman and family still tagged along.Brought them to Tea Room and the two teachers there happily conversed with them, about history of CCHMS and of course, tea. They could've taken over from us.But they didn't,such a pity. After Innosphere, went to Grand Audi(where they watched the male volleyballers happily for quite awhile...),canteen('want me to treat you girls to drinks?' No.) and classrooms('someone left their phone charger behind.' huh. 'what's your school moto?' huh?) And then the talkative guy made us look for Mr Tay,their old friend, but he wasn't around. And finally we were allowed to go.By then it was 3.15pm.
My mom picked us up and after dropping P. at the bus-stop,we went on to Raffles City 'cos she had a SK-II facial there and she didnt have time to send me home.It was a bummer to seat there for an hour reading an old issue of
Herworld at the Sk-II counter at Robinsons there, and observing how much makeup the counter girls used, and how fascinatingly horribly the old tai-tais dressed.Uggh.My mom stopped at the Clinique counter to buy something and the woman who hurried over to help...wasnt a woman.I thought that the woman did look a bit manly at first but that was OK,until he or she opened his or her mouth to talk.Well,OK.I can accept it.A tranvestite working at a makeup counter.Ok.But my mom seemed a bit uneasy about it.
Today: went Raffles City again. My sister needed to pick out a white shirt for presenting cases as a lawyer. She sucks at this. She wouldn't accept some shirts "cos they make me look short" and "i hate the collar".I mean, for heaven's sake,it's a white office shirt.in the end she settled for some shirt from Esprit that looked no different than the many we had seen.and it was like $90. Ninety bucks! Is she paying for the brand? (Yes.) I wanted to kill her. While she was at the counter,I went out and watched the fashion show they were having then.It was showcasing Billabong at that moment. How uninteresting.I regretted not catching the Levi's show yesterday.Anyway the models had difficulty walking around grandly,'cos they were in flip-flops.
And tomorrow,it'll be my first time waking up before the sun has risen,in about a week and 2 days.Extension week.is a bummer.
i thought the world of you
